Welcome to Zoo Walks through History! My name is Karie Kirkpatrick, and I am a Digital Publications Manager by day and a zoo enthusiast all the time. I have decided to combine my love of history and zoos by creating this blog. I am based in the Washington, DC area and a frequent visitor at Smithsonian’s National Zoo, so most—but certainly not all—of my posts will focus on this area.
